I just purchased Freshpet for my 12-year-old Shihtzu and as soon as I opened the bag it was a terrible foul smell. I purchased at a local store with expiration date of December and its October. Purchased 2 bags. I guess the local store fridge may not be keeping items cold enough but after researching this seems to happen quite frequently with this brand not sure with others but it was recommended, so I decided to try.l just be careful. User's recommendation: Be careful don’t think it should be a foul smell.
