Forgot to give me my merchandise

I live quite a ways way from Christmas Tree Shop, but was around the area and decided to pop in. I got a cartful of items and was excited about my purchase. I headed to the checkout and the process was fine. The lady handed me my bags and then my receipt and was on my way. I stopped on the way home to get gas, and decided to check up on my bags to get an item. I found out that some items where missing. I went back to the store and asked about my items. The lady said she had "forgotten" to give them to me. There was another bag of stuff. She didn't even apologize, just kind of laughed it off. As a cashier, you should make sure the customer has everything before they leave. It's an inconvenience. Because people like me have a distance to drive to go home, and do not want to go all the way back. It's easy just check your area, takes like 2 second. Have to be more aware. Apparently as I was leaving another customer had also come in to get items another cashier forgot to hand them. They should be retrained on the basics.
