force placed insurance

Normally our insurance does not lapse, our policy expired on 3/31/13, but our insurance agent decided he wasn't doing business with that particular company anymore, so it left us hanging looking for a homeowners policy.I found a new agent and had coverage by 4/12/13 with a copy of the declarations page being sent to Green Tree by the agent. Green Tree should have also paid this out of our escrow account. Shouldn't have really been an issue, however, Green Tree kept sending us notices that we didn't have coverage and if we didn't get coverage within 30 days they would add their own policy. On 4/18/13, I mailed a copy of the declarations page to three different Green Tree offices, (one was sent certified). I received another notice dated 5/9/13 from Green Tree saying that they still didn't have proof of insurance. So, once again I mailed it the address listed and I faxed it to the number listed, this was on 5/14/13. On 5/20/13, I called Green Tree to see if they had received it?. I was told yes, that everything was fine, . On 5/31/13, I received a packet from Green Tree Insurance that showing that on 5/25/13 they had added an insurance policy in the amount of $2, 223 to our account since we hadn't produced verification that we had insurance!. I faxed them 10 copies on 5/31/13 and another 10 copies on 6/3/13'. We'll see if they take their policy off. I On 5/17/13, I paid late fees they claimed we owed, but as of 6/3/13 they still haven't applied them to our late fees. On 4/18/13, I sent a letter to 3 of their offices asking for a detailed breakdown of our account since they took the loan over in January 2012, I am showing we have $145 in payments that are unaccounted for. As of this date I still have not received a reply back from them. They raised our payment $126 with no notice or explanation, (this was before they force placed the insurance). The payment has just been raised the month before due to escrow shortage, so it shouldn't have changed again for at least a year. Something needs to be done about this company.
