Flight delay.

Hello, my Name is Dalona Strong( Mileage plus member) and i recently flew with united on my flight ( UA3614) leaving Chicago to Atlanta. It was supposed to leave at 2pm we did not take off until after 6pm. I Understand things happen but i was on a business trip and was unable to complete my 1st day in Atlanta due to not landing until after 9pm that night. Before taking off, one of your employees ( not sure of the title) came onto the plane and announced we would be compensated for the flight. I would like to know how and when i will be compensated for my unusual experience with United Airlines.
