OMG...I am going through the exact same thing with Flagstar. They are holding my check of $17500 hostage. It's been three months since I sent the insurance check in to them. My insurance agent informed me they had cashed it. Everything they asked from me I submitted..insurance and contractor estimates, contractor paid invoices (I had to pay contractor money out of my pocket to get the work done being that mold was involved), inspector finished work report, release of financial responsibility. But they keep over and over again asking for the same documents saying that it was either uncleared or they did not receive them, even though they emailed me confirming they did. Every time I spoke to a different representative and each one denied not knowing what the previous one did, and therefore the communication or action never existed. I finally asked cto talk to a manager and they said she was busy and put me on a list for her to call back in 24-48 hours. Of course, I never received that phone call. Last time I spoke to them was a couple days ago and they said they have submitted for a check to be sent out to me...waiting for approval or decline. It's a nightmare. Will I need an attorney?
