I recently bought running shoes online from Famous Footwear and used them on my indoor treadmill. I would take them off and place them on one spot on the carpet next to the treadmill and never wore them outdoors. The shoes were shedding black dust from the shoe and stained the carpet and made a huge mess next to the treadmill. When I called, it turned out that they sent me shoes that had been manufactured years ago. Make sure you check what year the shoe was made in the inside of the shoe when you get them and call them if they send you old shoes. User's recommendation: Check what date the shoes were made in the inside of the shoe.
