False information provided; lack of follow up and refused to listen to patient concerns

I am writing to share my personal experience with this hospital, as a cautionary tale and warning to current and potential consumers. I received an annual check up that I was told by my doctor would be covered by my insurance, however I received a bill several months later. After making multiple calls for over several months, this situation was never resolved, my issue was still unresolved, and the only staff members who took my calls forwarded me to other staff members/supervisors who never returned my calls. In the end, the bill was sent to a debt collection agency while I was waiting for someone to return my calls, and now I am footed with a bill that was not mine to begin with, and my credit score wrecked because of this nightmare. I was treated very disrespectfully and have become the latest victim of the healthcare system. The only staff who took my calls were the ones, I understand, who could not directly address my concerns. But it is the responsibility of their superiors to ensure that all patients' concerns are addressed in a timely manner, to conduct their business in a professional manner that they are paid to do so. I am deeply dissatisfied by the whole experience and wish to share my story with others. Frankly speaking, I am embarrassed for them to behave in such an unprofessional and egregious manner. If possible, seek out an alternative provider. If this is not possible, watch your back.
