Fake service agents
I've had numerous calls from various solar companies, each claiming to be the "approved service agent" for my PV system. Clearly they've all just acquired my details from a database somewhere. Claimed they need to check my system for correct operation, by just checking the meter! Really?! I started laughing at this point. "So will you need to get onto the roof to check the panels?" I ask. "Oh no", they reply, " we just do a visual check from the ground". "That's useful, as I can't possible look up there and see if they're still all there myself!" Now I'm laughing out loud, but they don't seem to notice and continue with the sales pitch. They want both me and my wife to be available when they come! Now whenever you hear this, you know it's a hard sell job! Standard technique for time share, overpriced double glazing etc. In summary, these companies are making false claims to gain access to your property to try to sell you something you don't want or need.
