I stood in line to purchase a Pole Saw which I paid for with my mastercard. I was told to wait and the item would be brought up. I waited and was then told it was out of stock. A supposed credit was issued back onto my Mastercard. When I got my mastercard statement onlyt the charge shows and no credit for the item that was out of stock and that I did not receive. I received a paper which indicated a credit had been issued for the item and I left. When I received my credit cards statement only the charge shows and no credit since I did not receive the item. I'm screwed because I cant find the reciept or credit paperwork. Who does this and how? They must have record of the credit as it was issued in minutes of my paying for the item that was not in stock. I reported it to my credit card co. but I feel like it is a lost cause since I most likely didn't keep the paperwork thinking it was irrelevant since what I paid was supposedly credited back to my card. I had no item to keep the receipt for and stupidly discarded it. Is there any way I can prove that I had received a credit for an item within minutes of paying for was not in stock and credited my card back for the payment? Shouldnt Harbor Freight have a copy of the transaction? User's recommendation: Keep ALL receipts and credit transactions until after you receive your credit card statement and verify that the credit did indeed go through!
