Failure to give a refund other than personal attendance in branch

On the 27 July 2020 we placed an order and paid for a Kampa Dometic Rally Pro air Conservatory for which we paid by credit card £275. We were advised delivery would 3 weeks. 6 weeks later with the season coming to an end and no delivery we decided to cancel. We phoned the branch. Chichester and whilst the cancellation was accepted we were advised the refund could only be given if we personally came to the Branch. As we live in Worthing that would mean a 35 mile round trip and at least 2 hours of our time. When challenged we were advise it is Company Policy only to make refunds in store. We find this Policy totally unacceptable and against any principle of giving customer service. User's recommendation: Buy elsewhere.
