Ethics and consumer protection

O'Reilly Auto Parts is one of the most unethical companies I have ever dealt with. I have been repairing my own van for years. I'm a 62 year old single woman living in Elgin Tx. I needed to replace my brakes and rotors. I have made this repair several times because I drive a 1 ton passenger van and the weight of the van causes the brakes to be replaced often. I went into O'Reillys to purchase the parts. I was very specific about the parts needed. First the brake pads were not only over priced they were not the brakes for my van. I returned them and when I ordered the parts again I got a price 20 dollars higher. front brakes for a 3500 van 80+ dollars? I was not happy so they let me have them for the 67.10 I already paid. While replacing the brakes I saw the rotors needed replaced. I went back to the store and ordered the rotors only. They usually run about 50 each. They told me I could no longer order just the rotor and I had to use a rotor with a build in hub, for a mare 84.99 each. Thinking they may actually be knowledgeable I purchased them. Once again it was the incorrect part for my van. I brought my old rotor and the new one to the store. The remedy they came up with was to purchase another set of rotors for 100 each. Needless to say I walked out and went to Auto Zone. I talked to the clerk with in 3 minutes he found the rotor only I wanted to begin with, for 50 dollars each. There is something wrong with a company that will lie to you just to charge you more money, never mind the *** attitude they give you. They made a huge mistake thinking this old lady would put up with this kind of unethical behavior. I don't condone chauvinism, taking advantage of people, men or women, old or young. I don't run my business that way nor will I do business with anyone who puts up selling, lies and greed above ethics. Protect your self, call other companies, price check, do your due diligence if my word is not good enough.
