ER Treatment

1

On July 9th I was admitted to the ER after a biking accident. Upon learning that I did not have health insurance, the ER doctor - Dr. Lisa Kelty - was condescending and dismissive. She provided little or no communication and sup-par care. My head stitches were still surrounded by dirt and dried blood and became infected. She told me I was being discharged and had been to radiology and my knee was 'fine'. She returned 5 minutes later to inform me it was fractured. (I found out 5 days after my visit I also had an ACL tear). When I replied 'I'm being discharged with a fractured knee, what do I do?' She replied "I wrote a number on your discharge papers - call an orthopedist" and left the room. In my opinion she was disoriented, confused and not focused on what she was doing. I have made several attempts to file a complaint with Scripps Encinitas but they will not respond. Perhaps they will respond to my attorney.
