Employees need to give more attention to making sure whether the order is for whole beans…or for GROUND coffee…PLEASE.

Yesterday Tuesday 6-9-2020 at about 4:20ish p.m. I drove to from our home in El Cerrito to our El Cerrito PEET'S Coffee store located on the corner of San Pablo Ave. & Carlson Blvd.to purchase some more of the coffee that I always buy. I bought the '101 Blend from about 1987 through when '101' was no longer available, about 3 or 4 years ago when I began buying "GAIA" always Ground on #7. At the store, I ordered and paid the young woman who took my order, at the make-shift desk at the front entrance for: ((( "2 LBS of 'GAIA' ~ GROUND on #7" ))) and I walked away, and I waited on the sidewalk for probably 5 + minutes. A guy at the back door make-shift desk, called my name 'Pat', and I walked up to get my order of coffee. He offered me a carrying bag and I accepted, and he put the 2 LBS. into the carrying bag. I drove home. I get up at 4:00 a.m. most every morning and this morning I was up at 4:10. I put the water on to heat to make the coffee...lo and behold...what do I have? WHOLE BEANS! instead of the GROUND Coffee that I trusted to be in the bags of coffee, I was LUCKY enough to have just enough to make a couple of cups of decent coffee, remaining in the last of the 2 bags of my most recent purchase of 2 LB. of 'GAIA' roasting date 5/11. I get a headache if I don't get to have coffee. I have to take the Whole Beans back to have them ground. It's a disappointment on top of an already hard life. User's recommendation: in retrospect...I guess you have to double-check to make sure that your order is complete...but where does the responsibility of the employee to fill the order come in? Maybe the person who takes the order and the payment...needs to write the name of the coffee and the number it is to be GROUND on ~ (or whole beans)...to help insure that the order is complete.
