Electrical Emergency
3
Yesterday morning about 1am, my electricity went out in my bedroom and bathroom. I checked the breaker box in the garage to see if I could reset the breakers, but was unsuccessful. Later that morning, I called Havenbrook for a maintenance request. I explained my situation and urgency. I discovered, I also had no electricity in my kitchen, laundry room and garage. I was assisted by Karieme, who confirmed my account information and said I should expect a call from a vendor. I also received an email with an Service Request number. I later received a call from a vendor saying he could come on Monday morning between 9am- 12pm. I told him my request was an emergency. I had no way to cook and didn't want my food to spoil in the refrigerator. I called Havenbrook again and spoke with Renee. Unfortunately, none of the company's vendors were prepared for same day electrical repair. As a result, a family member helped me with securing an independent electrician at the cost of $150.00. I have two requests of this company: 1. Have a list of vendors for emergency repairs 2. If a resident pays out of pocket, because it's not feasible to wait, apply the amount paid for repair to the next month's rent. I am waiting to hear from someone with Management. I will be surprised if anyone actually calls. That's a catch word for those in the Call Center, when they're unable to provide or guarantee a suitable solution for a resident. I will return to leave a follow-up with the outcome.
