10-26-19 my almost 18 year old daughter and I were at the Eastwood Mall in Niles, Ohio. She wanted to get a second hole pierced. I fill out all the paperwork, we pick out an earring, and get her ears pierced by a girl named Amber. I sent my daughter to the counter to pay and I stepped out to go to the next store. My daughter went to go eat with a friend and called me freaking out that they charged her $119.55. So I call Claire's to find out why she was charged this much. Denise, who answered the phone, was extremely rude. She answers snipping at me "she probably chose a real diamond". I stayed no ma'am, her receipt says CZ... Cubic zirconia. So... Not a real diamond. I was getting irrate, I said no one bothered to think to tell us before piercing that it would be almost $120 and ask if that was truly the one we wanted? I absolutely would have said no, esp when it was CZ and not real! Denise, again rude as can be, states to me "just have her back come in, we will remove them and refund the money." So that is what we did, we turned around and went back. Upon arrival Denise is attending to a customer, telling them all about our phone conversation and "trash talking" my daughter and I. Little did she know, my daughter was right next to her hearing the entire conversation. That was so unprofessional and so unethical. I will never shop at Claire's again today after the way we were treated. Denise's eyes got extremely large and she turned red when she went to wait on the next customer, which was my daughter, and my daughter said yes, we are the ones who spoke to you on the phone about the $119.55 bill, the ones that you were just trashing to that other customer. Some people are just unbelievable and should not work in customer service, if I treated my patients with that disrespect and disregard, I would no longer have a business. With employees like Denise, Claire's will not have one for long either. People can online shop elsewhere and not deal with the hassle.
