Duped by Itinerary Change

One week before our departure date we receive an email stating our 12 days itinerary has changed to a 10 day. Normally we wouldn't be too upset because we usually cruise the Caribbean and have experienced some itinerary changes. But this cruise is a transatlantic crossing to Europe. What had been a 4 country stop was reduced to 2. The reason we chose this trip was not for the crossing but for the destinations. They removed the 2 days for France (Paris) & Belgium claiming an earlier dry dock schedule!!! We immediately called and our first impulse was to cancel. We are platinum latitude members and asked for a full refund. We also have the travel insurance coverage. We were denied even though we pleaded the reason was on their end and dry docking 2 days early is not a valid enough reason to cut the cruise short. They didn't care, it doesn't matter and if you read the cancellation policy, they can change, cancel and alter cruises for any reason. This also affects our flight back to US, car service and pet boarding. My husband and I had a very turbulent evening discussing and yes fighting too, and this morning decided to go with it. We feel we've been duped. Cutting the cruise short by 2 days also leaves me back home on my birthday instead of being in Paris during the day and a celebratory dinner at night. We are down in the dumps today and feel they pulled the rug from under us. Who would choose this cruise knowing that they would only see a Portugese island and 2 destinations in England after spending 8 total days at sea. To say we are disappointed is a huge understatement. We are angry. We booked 4 months ago and had been looking so forward to this vacation. Beside the refund for 2 days, 2 excursions and a 25% credit, we'll see what else they will do for us. We certainly will be asking for extras. We asked for an upgrade but was told no on the phone. Wish us luck, as this will be the first vacation we're taking under duress.
