2 years ago i invested the money in a top line gas dryer expecting it to last, and now just past the warranty period the start button won't turn on the dryer. Scheduled GE Appliance repair and the service tech didn't arrive when i was finally able to get through to a live person they said they can't send him out again today "sorry" and to reschedule. So infuriated that a) appliance lasted less than 3 years b) prompt service is impossible to obtain. Dryers should be built to last at least 8-10 years considering the price tag. User's recommendation: Don't plan to use appliance long term.
