Don’t waste your money or time on this crap!

Purchased for an interior door a few months ago. Only used about once a week. Tried to open yesterday and it refused, giving us the "Lock Error" code. Contacted Menards, spent an hour with a rep trying to get this lock to open, with no luck. Waited four hours for the manufacturer to return my call today, only to have them tell us "too bad"! Because they say we can't prove it's a problem with the lock (duh- that 's exactly what the "Lock Error" means), and that they have no way to know if it was installed correctly (the fact that it worked for 2 months shows it's installed correctly)., it is up to us to hire a locksmith to remove the lock, at our expense. So while they were willing to replace it under warranty (which we've refused because we don't want to be in this bind again), it's going to cost us just to remove this *** thing! Told us they've "never heard of this happening" before! Don't be fooled into thinking having a key will save you! If the lock malfunctions like this one, that won't help you.
