Don’t buy Axa’s collision damage waiver insurance!

Argus Car Hire sends nice replies repeatedly but no real help is offered. Argus Customer CARE (!!) service is great in hushing customers but not in solving the problems. In March, I rented a car from Hertz via Argus. To prevent hassle, I also took an insurance through Argus at Axa that Argus offers, this is an insurance that covers the deductible. The policy states: 'If the car is damaged, HERTZ will retain the deductible to cover the costs, which you can then fully claim back.' We were involved in a chain collision: a bus collided with 2 cars behind our car and we were hit from behind. Fortunately, we did not hit the car that stood in front of us. Hertz then withdrew part of the excess, in accordance with the information received at the conclusion of the car rental and according the insurance information Argus provided when making the rental reservation.. Back in NL, I wanted to reclaim that amount from Argus / Axa. I had to do that online and ended up with Car Trawlers. It cost me endless phone calls, emails and time. A few days ago I was e-mailed that I had to contact Hertz at Fuerteventura because a third party was involved in the accident. In other words: it is your problem. Now I have to see if I will get back the paid excess. I have bought off my own risk and as the information I received when adding the insurance redemption of own risk states, I should be paid by Axa! When asking about the Argus, Axa and Car Trawlers do not react to my questions and remarks. The only thing I hear is that I have to go to Hertz for a reclaim... On the web I was sent from Argus to Axa, Car Trawler and Hertz, it is all intentionally made very complicated. To the question for what the redemption excess insurance serves or CDW insurance serve, I did not get an answer. I feel heavily scammed!
