Don’t accept their assessment of your totaled vehicle they seem to greatly undervalue your total loss, get a copy of their assessment to check for incorrect evaluation.

On Nov. 16th. 2019 my car was totaled by a client of a local insurance company. They totaled the car and gave what appears to be a low ball offer using CCC1 market valuation assessment from a company know as C.C.C.I.S. I asked the insurance company about the options on my car because only one had been listed by the claims adjuster. The insurance rep. stated she needed to speak with the claims adjuster. A week later they called with a higher low ball offer, the next day I got a letter with a lower offer than the one quoted 24 hrs. before and they wanted me to sign the title over of the totaled car to them. I called the claims rep. and got a recording I left them a message that I would not sign anything till I got a offer for the car where I could purchase a similar car with the same mileage and options, several days later I got another call from the insurance rep. and they increased the offer a little more but still not enough to purchase a car of equal condition, options and value. I talked with our state's insurance commissioners office and was advised to ask the insurance co. for a copy of the form used to assess the my car. I requested a copy from insurance Co. they emailed a copy the report. I looked over the report and found it to be missing 12 options on my vehicle. I looked up the ads and carfax on line for the cars used to compare to mine, 2 of the cars listed 4 options that did not come as options on that year model car, after looking at the 3 comparison cars used the 1st car had 4 previous owners and over 95,000 miles on it and listed as having 1 option that the car did not have. Comparison car 2 had over 94,000 miles on it and listed 3 options that it did not have. Car 3 was a one owner car with with over 54,000 miles, carfax noted it was involved in a rear end accident. These cars were used to compare to my car which is a one owner accident free car with 70,459 miles with options of a electric sun roof, Bose entertainment system, navagation system, premium chrome wheels and a cargo area mat. It is my opinion if you have to deal with this type of situation you should contact your states insurance commissioner's office for information before you make any settlement decision.
