Does not honor commitments even when in wrting terrible company

I have a VA home loan that was sold to PennyMac a few years ago. I always paid my debts and on-time until I was diagnosed with breast cancer and other cancer related illnesses, multiple surgeries plus other illnesses. I worked as long as I could until I could not. When I knew that I just would not be able to maintain I contacted PennyMac and asked about several options to work with them to help maintain the home loan. They refused every option I asked about and refused to present me with any options. I even found a buyer and they rejected that buyer. They told me about the short sale process, but the buyer was turned down. I then worked with a realtor but because the property would sell for less than the value, including realtor fees, PennyMac still refused (they had to approve this before a buyer could close). I then began to work with PennyMac on a Deed-in-Lieu. They sent an appraiser to the home, they walked me thru the process, I submitted all paperwork they sent to me. We got to the end of the final process, they told me they would inspect the home, have the locks re-keyed, then send me a closing package AND pay me $1500.00 when the process was complete. We communicated up until about three weeks ago when the final package was 'being mailed to me and a copy was being sent via email'. I have heard nothing and suddenly no one is taking my phone calls, nor responding to my emails. The process was complete except the closing documents I have waited for. Each time I now inquire no one responds to calls or emails. Then out of the blue I get a letter from an attorney representing PennyMac stating they were hired to foreclose on the property and file a judgment against me. Due to the PennyMac requirements I had to vacate the home. I am on disability and do not have the income nor means of paying and for many months I had no income at all but do have mounting medical bills. I tried all I could to prevent this and work on behalf of both me and PennyMac. Even the VA called, the home is secured with a VA loan and the VA approved the Deed-in-Lieu. PennyMac is less than honorable and has caused me even more stress thus exacerbating my condition. I do not recommend anyone do business with them. If it can be avoided, please avoid then. My mortgage loan was sold to them, I did not choose them and wouldn't suggest any one else does.
