For the past few years the online tea community has been trying to locate the relationship between Special Teas and Teavana. Thanks to the hard work of tea enthusiasts more dedicated than me, it turns out that Teavana OWNS Special Teas - but never reveals this information on the two Web sites. Please review this online discussion: http://www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=8455 It should be, if it's not already, law that a company discloses whether or not it owns a competitor's brand, especially if Special Teas' prices are considerably lower than Teavana's gouging prices. I'm not happy about forking over extra money for Teavana when I could have received the same quality loose teas at a better price elsewhere.
