Worst customer service ever! I am a college student. I need a laptop for school. I ordered a Macbook Pro (2009) from Duckfish Electronics for 699.99 (as advertised). Shipping was fast, and it was sent out the next day. I noticed the address was from Florida, and thought it was a little sketchy at first. (They are a Washington based "company"). So I emailed sales, which happened to be only one person named Victor. He told me it was from a warehouse they had in Florida. So I was like, okay. When I got it, it had been sent from a random person (probably third party) from an apartment complex in Florida. I opened it, and the macbook pro had MULTIPLE scratches, oil stain marks, and a dent on the faceplate even though on the website they advertise as "Grade 10/10 A condition" and their products go through "rigorous inspection" before being sold. I emailed all the problems I had with it on the FIRST day I got the macbook for a refund or anything else I could do. I did not get a reply till I sent it again 3 days later. Victor told me in order to get a refund I would have to pay a 20% restocking fee, or have it exchanged. I opted to get it exchanged. After checking that the macbook had no additional damage, I noticed something strange. I HAD COMPLETELY RECEIVED THE WRONG MACBOOK. The one I had ordered was a 2.53 Ghz, 4g memory, 250gHD macbook pro. I had received a 2.26 Ghz, 2g memory, 160gHD macbook pro. So I had to PAY out of my own pocket to ship the WRONG macbook back to them. I needed the macbook pro for my chem lab class, and I had already wasted time and effort without a laptop trying to buy from this "company" and more importantly, do my schoolwork. So when I talked to Victor about this problem, he told me they would gladly resolve the problem and send out the correct mac that following week. I was finally satisfied so I sent out my macbook pro in USPS Express Mail, that cost me around 60$ because I needed the laptop in a hurry to do my schoolwork. What I didn't know however, is when my macbook pro was returned, they THEN notified me that my "unit" was sold out and they refunded back my money. Spending 60$ on shipping is a lot. I spent that much because I was told I they were going to ship out my replacement the next day they got it. I was under the impression that they had on it in stock. On top of that, to pay shipping to RETURN a macbook pro they incorrectly sent out in the first place. I shouldn't even have to pay for shipping if it is the wrong product. It wasn't at all my fault they sent me a messed up/completely wrong macbook. So I called them to complain and try and be refunded for shipping my unit back. Victor told me that he had "never seen the company give a full refund back" and kept making excuses to why I wouldn't be refunded, not one cent, or even half. That (I should be happy that they even give me a refund, they "waived the restocking fee") etc. First, why wouldn't I get a full refund for a messed up macbookpro? It wasn't even what I ORDERED. Second, uhh why would you charge me for a restocking fee when you shipped out the wrong product? So that is when I asked to talk to a supervisor and/or somebody in a higher position then him. He replied, "he is only in sales and he has no one else for me to talk too". Which is completely aggravating. If you're "hired" by a company, you obviously should have a type of communication method to contact the business owner, anybody in a higher position then him, etc. It was a sketchy website, and the only person I "talked to" was Victor. I am insinuating that this is a single man run "company" and they deal with selling their own/re-selling third party used items. I will never do this again! I spent so much time and money to buy from this company. I would rather just spend a couple more 100$'s to KNOW I am getting a good deal and they will deliver what they say they will. Do not risk buying from duckfishelectronics.com!
