Do not buy Dremel products
2
Update by user Feb 26, 2020 After much discussion their only offer was to sell me an upgraded model at a discount. I accepted as I had no choice...not a satisfactory solution as I did not need the upgraded unit. They insisted that my model had only a 2 year warranty and after I sent them a photograph of the retail carton prominently displaying a 5 year warranty they said "sorry that was a mistake".I still would not recommend Dremel. Original review posted by user Jan 27, 2020 Here is my experience with tools made by Dremel. I needed a tool to cut 3 electrical openings in 2 pieces of ceramic tile. Purchased Dremel 100 it burned out in less than 1 hour, lots of smoke but no flame. Barely scratched the tile surface. Returned it to store. Bought Dremel 4000 supposedly their strongest unit. Used the 4000 for 1 hour, took that long to barely cut 70% of the first opening. Called Dremel they said sorry return it for repair. I told them that after less than an hour of use doesnt amount to wear and tear and it should be replaced as defective. RIGHT!! So, I bought a Dremel 3000, it managed to cut 11/2 openings and then it died, that worked for about 90 minutes before it died. Returned that 3000 to store and purchased another 3000. I needed to finish this tile project and could not wait for Dremel to repair the 4000. Now I am on my 4th Dremel Rotary Tool with 11/2 openings left to finish. This 3000 managed to cut the remaining 11/2 openings but it took 2 hours to do so as the power unit kept slowing and stopping for the whole 2 hours. I am returning this 3000 as well. So I have gone through 4 Dremel tools 3 of which have been returned and I am left with a Dremel 4000 that has burned out in less than 1 hour and Dremel refuses to replace it. Non existent customer care. They are polite but dont expect any service!
