Update by user Feb 09, 2020 Still having problems with the Rinnai - because I could not find an knowledgable (or honest) plummber Rinnai sent out a plumber who was supposed to be 'expert' in their heat and hot water system. My house is small (not even 1,000 Sq feet) but even after paying this plumber I still do not have 'unlimited' hot water in my basement (barely lasts 5 minutes) and I do not have 'unlimited' hot water in my upstairs bathroom (after 10 minutes shower runs tepid). No plumber in all of my area of eastern Massachusetts is genuinely knowledgeable about their system. This winter alone I have spent over $1,000 on this system and I still don't have reliable hot water - this is completely ridiculous. Until this issue is resolved once and for all by Rinnai I will continue to update and encourage others to NOT purchase this heating hot water system. If the issues are not resolved by next winter I am planning on having the whole system taken out. I have spent $$$ every year since installing this $12,000 system and it is STILL totally unreliable. Original review posted by user Jan 09, 2020 I purchased a $12k furnace gas furnace heater and on demand water heater from Rinnai about 6 years ago and it has been nothing but a complete headache from the day it was purchased. It constantly needs attention - none of the plumbers understand the system so the thing continues to break down with no end in sight. Rinnai doesn't provide real training so if you purchase this system you are on your own. If you enjoy coming home in the dead of winter to a stone-cold house and no hot water this is the furnace for you!!! It's happened MULTIPLE TIMES!!! Do not buy this furnace -
