I have owned three Cannondale road bikes. The first two : ~1990 and 2001 were dependable and needed little tuning and repair. They were :bulletproof". The one I own now is a carbon fiber Synapse Shimano 105 - 2 to 11, It has been a problem from the start. It's like owning a MG: needs constant tinkering! I had to have the bottom bracket epoxied within a few weeks after I bought it, it needed a complete change of gears, chain and shifters to the tune of ~$550 after four years of use, etc, etc. MY research also showed me that Cannondale of old is no longer Cannondale! User's recommendation: If and when I buy another bicycle I will probably look at other brands.t other brands.
