I was recruited by seemingly respectful student leaders. Once I arrived in Oklahoma to work, the student leaders became extremely disrespectful. I explained a learning disability of mine before ever entering the program. It was my understanding that I would receive some type of coaching/assistance to thrive. Not only was I told to "get over my disability," when asking for teaching/guidance, but also personally attacked. Any time I asked for guidance on how to improve, it became an atrack on my self-esteem. A few other students left the program because the same student leader that told me to "get over my disability," also made insensitive comments about their race. This company really needs to be investigated.
