Disconcerting
1
FOUR negative things happened today. First: I was sent to the safeway deli to get "charcuterie" items. I told the deli clerk I didn't know what charcuterie was and did she know? She told me in an frosty voice " I've been working here for 23 years I am sure I know what it is. You wouldn't because it's French!" I answered how could I possibly know how long you have been working at safeway. I didn't say it out loud but I thought ..."So why do you think that gives you the right to be RUDE to the customers??" Second: I could not find bread sticks. I looked everywhere. Finally went to customer service. The clerk AMIT clearly didn't understand what bread sticks were. I told him I expected to get help at customer service and that safeway employees used to know exactly where every item was in the store. I am suggesting employees coming from a non North American cultural background clearly do not know our merchandise but they should and there must me training given to these individuals before they work in a store trying to solve customer's questions. Third: The plastic bags for the bulk nut department are TOO THIN..they tear open and spill the product. I lost a bag of cashews the other day and today the peanut bag opened at the till. I complained about the bag but of course the clerk clearly didn't understand and could have cared less. Fourth: When I got home I attempted to called the store manager His name apparently is Franco. Well I was put on hold twice and for well over ten minutes ...hung up and started writing this e-mail. Do you really think any of the above is acceptable??? By there way I went to WHOLE FOODS and found the bread sticks. but I must confess the service wasn't any better than safeway. sad really isn't it. Cheers Bill Mcfarlane / Vancouver resident
