Disappointing Response

I had ordered a product online through naaptol.com on 4th Dec'10. The payment for the same got processed immediately. I spoke to the customer care representative of the site as to when the product would be delivered to me. He told that my order has been processed and the product would be delivered within 7-10 working days. I again called up customer service after 3-4 days to have an update on the status. He told that the product ordered by me was out of stock. I asked him to give me an idea on how much time it will take to get it delivered. He told he can't give an idea about the timing but the same would be delivered at the earliest. I put a couple of feedback on the site through it's feedback section but i haven't got any response. Till date, the status is "stock not available". Now, the question is-Do they have a right to get the payment & keep my order hanging/ on hold. This was really not expected. My 1st time experience on the site has been very disappointing and i am sure the site would suffer if this kind of an indifferent attitude is shown to customers. If they are into serious business, they have to prove it by fulfilling the necessary commitments on time.
