This past October, 2017, we needed to replace our spa cover. We have a large spa, seats 10, so we expected it to be kind of pricey. I saw an add online which was for the Cover Guy. We measured as they told us and did receive a spa cover that fits fine. Here are the 2 issues we had: 1) when the spa cover was delivered I did pay attention to their request that I inspect the boxes to look for any damage. The delivery guy was nice and even opened the boxes and I walked all around and looked like they said to do. It seemed fine, so I signed off on them. Later that evening when we actually opened the box, the underside of the box was damaged. I could have never seen that side when it was delivered and having never received something shipped to my house by a truck, I did not even realize that a forklift had damaged the bottom of the box, which wound up being the bottom side of the spa cover. I sent pictures, and also said I had inspected every part I could see, but unfortunately since I signed for it, they wiped their hands of the problem. I contacted the shipper and they came out and looked also and were willing to proceed with filling out a claim, but instead we settled for a cheap repair kit that The Cover Guy sent because we just didn't want the hassle. I don't believe The Cover Guy would have made it right, but regret that we did not proceed with the shipper. At the time we ordered the cover, there was a special on their spa cover lifters. I believe $319.00 for the two we would need for our cover. We simply ordered the 2 lifters, but there were no dimensions given, we assumed they were one size fits all...or that they would send the correct size for our cover since they did have those dimensions. When my husband went to put the lifts on this summer, they were too long. We only knew they were too long when we went to install them. Again, I called right away and was told since they were opened, they could not be returned. She suggested we just go have them cut down to fit. My husband didn't want to do that because of the powder coating but since they can't be returned that is what we will be doing. Our entire order was over $1000.00. Neither of the issues we had will be resolved, but I did want to share our disappointing experience. There won't be another purchase from The Cover Guy.
