Disappointed in Tucson Service Dept.
1
Hello -- I am extremely disappointed by the failure of the Service Department at Camping World of Tucson. I purchased my travel travel there a little less than a year ago. The Sales Department treated me well and.I spent more than $18,000 on a one-year-old travel trailer. I got a one-year warrantee plus an extended warranty from Good Sam. I contacted Tucson via email a little more than two weeks ago to schedule a Service appointment. I gave them a preview of the repairs I needed. Before my 10AM appointment, I provided a written checklist of 4 interior and 3 exterior items that needed attention. Other than the initial exterior photos by a Service Advisor, no one even looked at the trailer in a repair bay until approximately 2PM. In the morning, I had been told I had to retract the slide-out. In late afternoon, I was informed that they would not work on any of the interior problems because of the limited working space. (They would have actually had to extend the slide-out again to get comfortable working space!) In the morning. I had warned them there was a docile cat on board. In late afternoon, I was told they will not work if pets are present. The exterior items fared no better. They did not even take the top off the battery box. As a result, they misunderstood the problem I was having. They said it wasn't charging, after I had informed them that it was charging but not holding a charge very well. The taillights do not work. That's a serious safety issue! They would not or could not fix them for me. They gave me a cost estimate of over $1000 to seal around the water heater, refrigerator and one window. I will do it myself with 6 sheet-metal screws and some caulking. I did authorize approximately $135 to replace a window.latch. By this time, however, it was nearly closing time. They did not have the part not did they have time to get it locally. They fixed absolutely nothing! They charged me $125.10 for their diagnosis of the taillights and window latch. I would have authorized the taillight repair, but they refused to do the work. I did, in fact, authorize the window repair, but they could not do the work in a timely manner for lack of the necessary part. I had arrived the previous evening and I hung around all day. I certainly did not want to waste another day or more waiting for them to get the part. I reluctantly paid the $125.10. I was asked to sign a form that stated that all the repairs had been completed satisfactorily. I printed "NO REPAIRS WERE ACTUALLY PERFORMED" and signed below that. I doubt that I would ever return to Camping World in Tucson or elsewhere. Nor would I recommend Camping World to anyone else. I might reconsider going to another Camping World location IF you refund my $125.10. The time I wasted cannot be replaced. Thank you for your consideration.
