Desperately seeking help to restart dlink extender, tech support no help at all

We have a DLink router as well as two dLink range extenders, all was working reasonably well (poor power but working slowly) until both crashed. After looking online for help, following multiple sites' directions, also youtube tutorials, I managed to get one of the extenders working but not the other. Called Just Answer, after over one aggravating hour the tech suggested I watch a Youtube tutorial - the same one I had already followed on my own. Then he suggested I call DLink, gave me a number which was not assigned. Finally I thought maybe this extender is fried, and we should try a new one. Did some research online, and in the ratings comments some people mentioned how great dLink support is. So, I called them again, using the number provided in the rating comment. The fellow at Dlink wanted $90 for tech support, I said I already paid Just Answer to no avail, and pointed out that a newer, better extender costs $50. He said he couldn't help me, unless I paid the $90. I think I'll look into another brand. I have wasted a LOT of time on this today alone, not prepared to waste another precious minute on DLink, except to voice my frustration.
