Denied MRI to spite specialists request
3
I have been with Cigna for 30 years. I injured my shoulder and had issued of tingling, numbness and cramping in my hand. First I saw the doctor who wanted to do an MRI it was denied. I did weeks of physical therapy with little relief of the tingling. I was referred to a neurologist, who wanted to do an MRI, it was denied. We tried weeks of medication with little relief. She asked for an MRI it was denied. She did a nerve test and again requested an MRI, it was denied. A year post injury I still have cramping and numbness in my pinky and when I called Cigna the girl said, "I understand your frustration, but we have denied the MRI" that's it. After 30 years with them, I will be looking to change insurance in October
