Defective ultimate

I recently purchased the pit boss ultimate. I have only used it twice. On the charcoal side after one use the enamel all around the thermostat is gone. It is basically just flat paint now. I am in fear that this is going to rust and corrode very quickly being that I have only use that side one time.Is there something that can be done. Possibly ship me a new lid?
