Defective product / bad return policies

Ordered pair of earrings because got e-mail they were on sale as a special promo. Took forever to arrive at the store - oh well. Then went to get them- made special trip long distance and I don't drive - had a pay driver. They were missing a stone. Called the store rude girl said I could come all the way back but I would have to pay store price, which is double the on-line price. They arent worth it, and I had no way to get back there. Called Claires corp,first guy very rude, and said too bad and no supervisors on. I called back got other guy ho did all he could,was very helpful but couldnt change things. I then found I would have to submit a picture, but I have no smartphone and no home internet. I cant get back to store - work an enormous distance from anywhere and take bus/train - only can come every few weekends. Then found out i would have to get postage somewhere to send it back - no prepaid sticker, no refund on postage even when their fault! Finally found someone with stamps and am sending it back but have to really juggle schedule to get it mailed. Claires is terrible to deal with.
