Defective mailbox

Bought a Gaines mailbox from Home Depot at $200+ it has factory defect the finish is pealing off, there is nothing i could have done to cause this! Gaines rep told me something must have came in contact? (UFO?) At $200 i would expect a very good quality product not the junk i have!
