Defeated

I have a previous posting at my dissatisfaction with the home inspector from Pillar to Post. My husband and I are at over $30,000 out of our pocket with more money needed to be spent. This money was used to keep our home from falling down or being red tagged. Our garage is also in the same status. We filed a claim with the liability carrier of the home inspector. Complete with a narrative, timeline and plenty of pictures. We were denied as there is a one year timely filing clause in the home inspection report. We were not denied because the inspector truly missed the real picture on our home. It was that all the issues were noticed after the one year. I hope no one else ends up in the situation. There are lemon laws for cars. You have a home inspector for your home. Our last recourse will be to hire an attorney and sue the home inspector and the prior home owners. This would cost us at least as much as we have already spent. If the issues continue we really may not have a choice. This has been such a difficult experience for us. When we tell anyone our story they ask "Didn't you have a home inspection?" We just laugh.
