FIRST THE COMPLAINT In February 2015 I bought a new car from Conway Jeep in Conway South Carolina brand new not a demo not used not wrecked. What I received was a wrecked vehicle Last week I took it in for service to get a strange smell in my car figured out I also have a bumper to bumper at lifetime warranty I figured that would cover it because it was probably something small .They then called me and told me the leak was from the windshield I went there to go figure out what was going on and when I got there the service manager was very rude. I asked the guys behind the counter dont I have the whole lifetime warranty The service manager then made a comment from sitting behind a desk that warranty dont cover everything or I have included if I replace something and it goes bad He then continued on about that I should go to the windshield place that I had windshield replaced to fix it he said its been leaking for a long time .I told him I have never had this windshield replaced since I bought it new from this dealership Conway Jeep.Would you feel if a car just a few years ago. Was leaking water from a replaced windshield if they would have told me and I agreed then its my problem. But this windshield I wasnt told about. Its the fault of all this water and mold and everything else in my car. In the articles I have read the do you dealer have to replace the car completely or repay all the money IN to it plus interest even insurance because they did fraud. What kind of answer is that I am worried my car is now from all the water that leaked in what else is damaged from it .I even said to him this is consumer fraud. A new car dealer cant replace a windshield or anything else before I receive It unless it has been disclosed. I have read quite a bit of this and they all say that if something is replaced on a vehicle the purchaser of a car like me this BE must be disclosed. Whatever way you look at it I purchased A repaired vehicle. l did not go in there to buy a wrecked car I was there to buy a brand new car. If I wouldve known that the car I would have picked another but now it makes me sick it stinks so bad inside the car from the dealer putting on a faulty windshield. The service manager informed me that if the windshield was replaced and I was wondering what else is bad I would not have bought that vehicle and picked another. Replacement windshields are not equal to the factor ones; the replacement one thats on here now came from China. I planned on keeping this car for quite a while since Im getting older and I might not have another chance to get a good car. I really like this car. glass from the factory has the word Mopar printed on it This windshield that has been put on my car says PNG and following back on that it shows it was made in China. Replacement windshields do not have the factory specs they just copy and sometimes theyre thinner or thicker or shorter for the glass is not a quality like a factory windshield or windows. I figured this was going to be the last car right purchase because my health isnt the greatest. Conway sold me a wrecked car as a new one. Since this was a wrecked car what else was done to it. A few months back I had to have part of the hood repainted because the paint was not sticking. It looked like rust or bad paint so it was wrecked. The hood is fiberglass and factory paint does not do that. I asked the write up person if this is common he said this was the first he saw. Ill admit I really did lose my temper because I wasted $30,000 on a car that smells terrible now. What else could then damage underneath the firewall from water but hasnt shown yet. Even if they repair it, I dont want this car any more. It is water damaged because of Conway. Its a puddle under the carpet that you could actually/when you step on it I was sold a deceptive car and it was never shown on any sales favor or to me what is this going on they cant do that the law states everything must be disclosed to the buyer. go to sell my car now I will have to know that it has good water damage decreasing the value at least $10,000 And if I repaired I could see it Ill be close to $3000 so were looking at a total of $13,000 Not including the interest I paid all the things I put into it new tires oil changes everything. How Please help to get this settled. On social security I dont have money to get fixed which is wrong to do. What is a dealership's right to replace a part four part and not disclose it to the buyer of the vehicle they did it to. The lawyer's price is way too high for me. committed fraud and its very apparent This practice test if you stop somewhere and I think that is what My case will do. Over $3500 in dollars because they did was fraud . If it was the original windshield this wouldnt have happened plus what else they repaired. THE WINDSHIELD WAS MADE IN CHINA. Please help THIS IS HOW CONWAY JEEP ANSWERED TO BBB Mr Hicho did buy the vehicle from us here at Conway Chrysler. I have investigated his service file and he has been a great customer with us to include oil changes and routine maintenance. I looked at every shop visit and on none of them was a mention about a water leak or a moldy smell concern. I also checked the master file on this vehicle that he did buy new and nowhere in there did Conway Chrysler fix or repair the windshield while in our possession. I then checked his vehicle history and found that he had an accident on 04/04/2018 that could have caused his problem. MY RESPONSE TO THAT (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) My wife, myself and my son will gladly take a lie detector that the windshield has never been replaced since I have had it. The insurance company you are free to contact. It was in a parking lot someone bumped the left REAR side bumper. It only started smelling about 2 weeks before I took it in. The bump in the bumper was reported to the state per requirements unlike them I follow the law. Somewhere between the factory it was replaced. They are responsible since they sold it to me. If the factory broke it they would not use a China windshield. If it was not them they are responsible to find out who. That's the law. They sold me a wrecked car and sold as new. I only found the smell before ii called for repair They are totally responsible for the problem. How could someone break the law with no recourse. That windshield would have been on a history on my vehicle the only one that could have it repaired and not listed in the vehicle would be the dealer. OF COURSE THEY SAY IT WASN'T REPAIRED BY THEM AS HE TOLD ME AND LAUGHED WE SEND THEM OUT. MY VEHICLE WAS IN THERE ABOUT 3 WEEKS BEFORE I TOK IN AGAIN FOR THE SMELL THAT STARTED. SO IF IT WAS PRESENT THEM THEY WOULD HAVE NOTICED IT. IT REALLY STINKS THERE RESPONSE TO ANOTHER CONSUMER GROUP THAT I CONTACTED our apology for the troubles you are having with your vehicle. upon review your car is out of factory warranty. the service contract you bought does not cover body panels. our service manager called and they would not cover it because the factory coverage was out. WHEN I FIRST TOOK IT IN I FIGURED SOMETHING WRONG THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY WOULD COVER IT FROM CHRYSLER THE BEST ONE WOULD HAVE TAKEN CARE OF IT. SINCE THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD FIND HE NOW CALLS THE WINDSHIELD A PANEL.. NOW COME ON .. BUT THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS THE RUDEST PERSON I COULD THINK OF TO HAVE IN A SPOT LIKE THAT..I HAVE BEEN IN THERE MANY TIMES ALL HE DOES IS SIT THERE. WHAT TYPE OF BRAIN WOULD TRY TO SAY THAT. I'm not arguing about the warranty of my extended bumper to bumper warranty. My warranty oNLY only be second to the fact they sold me a wrecked car. Somewhere from the factory to the dealer or the dealer the car was wrecked. The service manager did not call the service manager and faxed it to warranty. I was on the phone with warranty when he cAlled the dealer. No one would take the call and said the counter person was at lunch And no one said they could help him. Now the service manager told you he talked to them what a lie. Warranty was only contacted by me Service manager Was very rude and argumentative for someone in his position. He did not say because to me anything about the panel is windshield. He said no because of replacement of the windshield replacement. Which was put in halfaas put in from factory to dealer. Since he sold it to me he is responsible for it. My wife and son will gladly take a lie detector test and a call to the insurance company will show you there was never a claim from me. What he told BBB is way different Probably was done by two people and they forgot to combine Resources to come up with same story All I know is they are very crooked there selling wrecked cars as new. I don't want to contact the tv stations or walk the sidewalk to tell people what they do SELL WRECKED CARS AS NEW. If you cannot help please tell me who your boss is please. What they're doing is breaking the law. If this still goes on and you allow your Dealers to sell wrecked vehicles just let me know. THERE RESPONSE TO CHRYSLER DIFFERENT THEN TO BBB.
