Davis Equipment Center states that "Customer satisfaction is important to us and we know our business depends on it. We earned our fine reputation the old fashioned way; through honest hard work and treating every customer with prompt and friendly service." I contacted them in May 2021 to have them replace the drive belts on an LTX 1040 Cub Cadet lawn tractor. I was informed that their tech/mechanic will not do the work since it [Paraphrased] "always causes trouble". They refused the job!! So what does one do?? Toss out the machine?? I replaced the belts myself - about an hour labor and two new belts. Simple job - just takes loosening engine (4 bolts) to move the drive pulley away from the forward belt keeper. A few other interference items (main belt keeper), 2 pulley removals, put belt on & replace everything in reverse order. Doesn't take a rocket scientist - just a 70 year old man with a little mechanical experience. Davis Equipment lost a customer on this one!
