Crouch Failure in Jeans

I have two pairs of jeans that are in great shape but the crouch failed in both. What is the issue that causes this to happen? I love Levi's but can't keep buying jeans that don't last. What options can you suggest? One pair is a 501 and the other a 505. I've moved to AE jeans and they seem to hold up much better. Suggest why I should stay Levi strong.
