Two months ago, I returned a Calphalon Oven because the outer cabinet got extremely hot during operation. So hot, that it is a burn hazard to children and adults as well. The company insisted that they replace it, rather than returning my money. So I asked if there had been a design fix to cure this problem. No one could answer that. Reluctantly, I returned the oven. Nearly a month later, I called to ask where my 2nd oven was? They claimed that the 1st one was received, and a new one is being processed for shipment, and I could expect delivery in a week or so. Eventually, it arrived. I tested it, and nothing had changed. At 350 degrees oven temp, the outer cabinet enclosure registered 250 degrees with an oven thermometer. So, I called Calphalon for return shipping instructions again, and demanded my money back. Well, I was first told that a refund would be forthcoming in 10 to 15 working days. When I didn’t see a deposit in my account after 3 weeks, I called, and was told that it takes “2 to 3 billing cycles” for refunds. THAT’S 2 TO 3 MONTHS! So, here I sit waiting for them to get off the dime and refund my money. When I ordered their garbage oven, it sure didn’t take long for them to accept payment, nor did it take long to get the oven. But when they owe customers money or a replacement product, they take their sweet time in responding. Never again will I do business with Calphalon.
