Corelle Dishes and Cups

1

I was given a set of corelle dinnerware as a gift. I dropped a cup and it shattered. I thought it was a fluke but, tonight, I dropped a dinner plate and it shattered into hundreds of pieces and some pieces flew across a 9x12 room. It was a very dangerous situation and I never experienced this before with corelle dinnerware. Come to find out, Corning sold their corelle to a company called World Kitchen. You cannot contact this company to complain. I just want everyone to know that the new corelle dinnerware you are purchasing is not the same as it was years ago and can be very dangerous. I am no throwing away the rest of the set because I am hearing from other complaint sites that these dishes/cups can just explode with no warning. Something should be done about getting these dishes off the shelves of the stores before someone is seriously injured if they haven't already been. I felt very fortunate that the shards of glass that went flying across the room did not hit me in the eye, etc.
