Consistently looking for check out help and people arriving after me all get waited on first
Terrible training for checkout, or they just don't care. When I was working in retail years ago we were taught it was imperative when lines are building up in one checkout to purposely state when opening a new checkout "I will take the NEXT customer in line"... despite the common sense procedure, the following seems to be happening consistently here. I walked up to one of few checkouts at 7:30 p.m. that had a lit sign indicating that it was available but nobody was standing at the register. Despite this, there were about three or four extra employees were standing at the ends of the neighboring checkouts. When I walked up to the empty aisle with the light on, they did nothing. When another man walked up behind me because he saw the same light they all of a sudden hurried over to wait on us. I let the customer behind me go in front of me because he had fewer items, and as soon as I did that another employee came out of nowhere and opened up the next aisle and said I'll take somebody over here. The three people who came up to the registers after me got waited on before I did even though I was there first.
