Conclusion of my problem

The real estate rental agent who handled our cancellation due to covid actually advertised and rented our unit that week. However, we lost $400 with that rental. Bottom line is the owner of the Marriott vacation club is beholden to what Marriott will do for them. Consequently, they could not guarantee we would get that week at that resort next year for our reunion. And the owner had our money and was not willing to reimburse us or get another renter. My recommendation is never rent a Marriott vacation week from anyone unless its a last minute thing and you are sure your plans will not change. User's recommendation: Don’t rent a Marriott vacation club.
