complaint about stylist

2

I took my Granddaughter, Maya, to the Hair cuttery at Lake Montclair Center, Montclair, VA. We got there at 11:30. The stylist Nicole #21 signed her in. I asked for the stylist that was familiar with her hair but she was not there. My Granddaughter is bi-racial, my point is, if Nicole was not comfortable doing her hair she should have said so. In stead she shampoos and put conditioner on her hair and Did Not rinse it out properly. She got her hair tangled so badly that the manager tried to assist her between her jobs. It is now 1:40 and she brings my Grand daughter to me and says that the front is matted. I told her it was not matted when I brought her in because I had combed and brushed it out and put moisturizer on it and a cap so it would be easy to manage. I asked if I could pick it out she consulted with manager who said having me do it in the shop was a liability. I told Nicole I was going to get a pick and I would be back she requested that I pay, so as not to make a seen I paid for the shampoo and deep conditioner $21.00 + 5.00 tip. I took her to the Food Lion and purchased a pick and detangle and lift brush went to our 90 degree temp car, and brushed and picked out the front of her hair, which she said she couldn't do. We went back and Nicole did not come back to finish the job because she knew that the back was still tangled. It is now three o'clock and the stylist who had did Maya's hair previously came. She signed on and took Maya as a client. She starts working on her hair and after an hour or so she realizes she also needs help because she is having to detangle what she thought had been done and also white sticky stuff was left in and it was hard where Nicole first stylist had blow dried it and had not rinsed the conditioner out properly. Euna spent from 3 :00pm to 5:30pm working on Maya's hair. It was a total of six hours spent at and around the hair cuttery for my nine year old Grand daughter. She was a trooper she only complained when it hurt. The other stylist complemented Maya for being so patience. I paid Euna $50.00 + tip which she well deserved. I spent a total of $70.00 for a "Smile turned upside down".
