i purchased a kitten from cococookie cattery in NJ for $850 when the cat was almost 5 months old and her adult teeth were coming in they were making terrible noise I took her to the vet and was told she had a severe jaw misalignment that was genetic and would need to see a specialist at Univ of Penn- I called the breeder to explain and took kitten to U of P- she needed major surgery and that alone cost me $1200- I sent all documents and invoices and letter from surgeon and vet to the breeder and asked to be reimbursed as allowed by NJ law. She called me and agreed to send me $1050 ( about half of what I had spent) I agreed to accept knowing she would still need additional surgeries in the future. The breeder never sent the money- after numerous attempts to call her with no return call I finally reached her spouse who said they didnt feel they should send anything. the breeder told me the newest litter had kittens showing the same signs and I see now she is posting this litter for sale also- shame on her. Do not buy a kitten that will have this defect and the breeder does not stand by her cats.
