Clear Link Clearly a Problem
1
Had "Clear Link" system hooked up to new $450 kitchen faucet 2 years ago. This links up RO system with your regular faucet with the push of a button, so the RO water goes through it, so you have a remote button rather than a separate RO faucet. Sounds great, huh? Well guess what? Most regular kitchen faucets are not RO compatible and the CL causes the faucet to leak within 2 years. Even if you re-pack the faucet, it will work for about 2 months, then start leaking again. Not only did Culligan not tell me this could happen, but it is also dangerous. My water is getting "recontaminated" as RO water flows through it. When I called Culligan about the first leak under my sink, not even knowing where it was coming from, I couldn't get an appointment for them to come out for a full week. If I wanted them to come out any earlier as an "emergency" it would (and did) cost me $200. I paid them that to come look and tell me the leak was not coming from the RO system itself, but the faucet. Now I'm paying a plumber $600 to install a new $200 faucet, and drill *** and install an RO compatible, dedicated faucet ($40). Clear Link is clearly a problem!
