Unfair charges

Needing repairs to my LG washer and dryer (less than 5 years old) I called LG and was given the name of an authorized LG service company : Affordable Service Appliances. The repairman came out and determined the dryer needed a new thermostat as it was not heating up and the washer needed a new water valve. The cost of the parts I was told was over $200 and the total for the repairs would be $558 (with tax it came to $579.54) The repairs took about 40 minutes to complete, during which time the technician asked to use my vacuum cleaner to clean lint in the dryer (should have had his own equipment if needed). I later checked the LG manufacturer’s website to verify the cost of the two parts used in the repair and found they sell for $23.15 – not over $200 as I was charged. Given the actual cost of the parts used, Affordable Service Appliances, Inc., made over $500 for the less than one hour labor of their repairman. What a rip-off! It is not-so-affordable service for appliances. The company charges flat rates for repairs depending on the job regardless of the cost of parts or time involved and their rates are extremely high based on my experience.
