Jay Davis of Affordable pressure washing (864) 762-1088 was hired by myself to build a platform addition to our deck and then was supposed to stain both the old deck and the new. After building part of what he was contracted to build, and after being paid for the ENTIRE job, he did not complete the job, nor did he return our $1000 we paid him for staining the deck. The platform he built is very nice. However, he told us his Grandmother died and he had to spend the week with his mother in Connecticut. It is odd that I read a review written last year on Angie'sList stating the same thing! In any case, I decided to get him to build a rail and a step rather than stain the deck. We agreed upon $375 for this which was to be deducted from the $1000 for staining the deck. He was a no-show with every excuse in the book. So we told him to forget it, just to send us the $1000. He told us a couple of time "the check is in the mail." One time he even said he sent it to us via Express Mail. Express mail has tracking numbers. He had no tracking number, of course...it should have arrived 5 days ago...I'd say he certainly lied about sending a check via Express Mail. He ripped us off. Do not hire this guy. He will lie and perhaps even steal.
