Shawn Brown/Credit Unlimited Inc. & Stradwick Investments/Gerald Suburo – Bad Car Leasing Program

Well this all started when I decided to ask the help of Shawn Brown with Credit Unlimited to get me some unsecured lines of credit for my business. He did help me secure a $35,000.00 line, but there was a problem with payment of the fees associated with the line. Mr. Brown promised that once the line was secured, that all I needed to due was pay him the fees associated with the line and he would pay the company. (I'll never do that again.) Later, I got a call from the company that secured the line that they had not been paid. So, I paid them and confronted Mr. Brown with the news from the company. He said that he was having a problem with his merchant account and would reimburse me. This went on for a couple of weeks and then he presented me with a proposal: He wanted to start a high-end car leasing company and needed my great credit to get it off the ground. In return, my great would be even greater and I would get paid roughly $5,000.00 and the money that I paid in fees. I like the guy so I said, "Yes." What a mistake. The plan was to get three high end cars and lease them to clients. The cars were supposed to be Lo-Jacked and the leases managed by a Mr. Ed Cain. The clients were selected by Mr. Cain. The car arrangements were made by Gerald Suburo and Stradwick Investment Properties, LLC. So I went in and signed paperwork for three cars and after that my life became a nightmare. To their credit, I did get the small amount of money they promised, $5,000.00. Looking back on it now, it was totally not worth it. (Regarding the reimbursement for the line fees I paid, I had to file for a return with my credit card company against Mr. Brown's company to get that resolved. He actually suggested this tactic. Thank God it worked, but what a *** way to do business.) 1st, what we were doing was illegal and not in compliance with the agreements of the loan documents. (I didn't realize they had used false income documentation & added it to my credit profile). 2nd, Mr. Ed Cain stunk as a lease manager. So I had to get involved with each of the clients; where one, a Michael Anthony Wells aka Mike Noble (under no circumstances do any type of business with this guy – see other report with his name), stopped making payments to me on the vehicle, sold it to another person who somehow cleaned the title and sold it again to someone who drove it to Jamaica, New York. And, yes the car was repossed, because luckily the guy had insurance on the vehicle which was tracked by the finance company. 3rd, I'm still dealing with the other 2 cars. Thankfully the guy is paying the leases, not timely, but close enough. 4th, my credit is ruined. The bottom line: if someone approaches you with some kind of scheme like this, don't do it. Besides being illegal, if someone skips with the car, you can't report it stolen (I tried several times) because it's a civil matter. Also, it's just too easy to remove/detect Lo-Jack type items in a vehicle and remove them. It's just not worth the headache or damage to your credit. If you're stuck in a lease you can't afford, just *** the bullet and turn the car back in to the leasing company. Again, it's not worth the hassle. Just way too many things can go wrong. Lastly, if you want to start a leasing company, do it the right way, and get some good legal advice first.
